Introducing BioEdge
BioEdge delivers sustainable, proven water purification solutions for municipalities, industry, and both conventional and organic food producers worldwide. Backed by more than 25 years of innovation across 15 countries, we help organizations turn the costly challenge of wastewater into a safely managed and sustainable resource.
Our mineral-based technology harnesses charged metal ions that are 30 times smaller and up to 420 percent more active than copper sulfate. This allows BioEdge treatments to rapidly eliminate up to 99.9 percent of bacteria, algae, fungi, and viruses, working twice as fast and up to four times more effectively than competing solutions.
Every BioEdge formulation is self-dispersing, non-toxic, and free from synthetic chemicals. They control microbial growth, prevent biofilm and odors, clear clogs, and promote healthier agronomy, animal performance, and overall system efficiency with minimal environmental impact.
Treatment samples are available for site-specific evaluation, enabling your technical team to verify the superior performance of our products.
BioEdge at Work
BioEdge formulations contain minute concentrations of natural minerals such as copper and zinc in ionic form. These positively charged ions (Cu²⁺, Zn²⁺) are electrostatically attracted to the negatively charged microbial cell envelope. The resulting interaction alters membrane permeability, disrupts nutrient transport, and compromises cellular integrity. Due to their extremely small size, approximately 1/30 the size of metal nanoparticles, and their vast numbers, these ions readily penetrate microbial cells. Within the cell, they interact with sulfur-containing amino acids and inhibit enzymatic pathways critical for energy metabolism. The combined effects of membrane disruption and metabolic inhibition lead to cell lysis (destruction) in harmful microorganisms including bacteria, algae, fungi, and viruses, while beneficial microbial populations remain largely unaffected.
